WINGOVER/HANGOVER EVENT FOR NEW YEARS DAY 2017!

This year's event was bigger than ever!  Long-time member Luis Munoz hosted eight brave souls on a cold, wet New Year's Day!  But lots of fun, and some diverse aircraft to see which included a jet turbine, a flying wing, a seaplane, a VTOL, and many other electrics.  And look ma - no crashes!  Thanks Luis for setting this up again.
The following picture was taken by Steve Piper, and text is from John Shirron - thanks for the posting John!

Congratulations to the first flyers of 2017.
Some highlights:
First Flight: David Agar, Dave Anderson, Nelson Scott, Frank Williams, Luis Munoz, Bill Herman, John Shirron, Thomas R. O'Neal Jr.
First Turbine Flight: Frank Williams
First Helicopter Flight: Thomas R. O'Neal Jr....
First Seaplane Flight: Dave Anderson
First Warbird Flight: Thomas R. O'Neal Jr. and John Shirron

Thanks to everyone that came out and braved the light snow and flew. Special thanks to Frank Williams for the flame throwing hand warmer.
Let's make it a GREAT flying year!!!

OFFICER ELECTIONS FOR 2017 DURING JANUARY MEETING!

All of us can be appreciative of the members who step up to take a leadership role in our club.  With over 100 members every year, and more joining every year, it's important to the right people in place to provide direction, coordinate activities, and communicate with outside entities.

At our regular November meeting, members participating nominated Frank Williams for President, Mike Akers for Vice-President, Jeff McIllvenna for Secretary, and Steve Piper for Treasurer.  Be present at our December Christmas dinner to meet the nominees.  Voting will be conducted at January meeting.
OUR FIELD OPERATING RULES ARE UNDER RE-WRITE!  GET YOUR INPUT IN!

Our club can thank our dedicated members who step up to do the dirty work that needs to be done!  In this case, Mike Ahlfors is asking for your input in re-writing our rules for operation at the fairgrounds field.  By submitting your opinions and concerns, you show you are an active member of the club and you care about how we progress.  Follow the link on the left that says "How to Join/Renew" for the copy of the rules, or just go here.  We have over 100 members, and we expect to grow even more as our friends at Fern Prairie Modelers deal with the pending closure of their field this coming year!  Make your voice heard and help your club!  Contact Mike directly or send an email here (Email Mike).
Thanks in advance for your attention on this issue!
OUR NEW WEBSITE IS LIVE!

Member Chuck Graves has been working diligently on our new website!  Your input is needed now to move the programming out of the Beta stage.  An email was sent club-wide this week providing the link to the new site.  Visit This Link to provide your input and help Chuck design our best website ever!  Send your comments to Chuck Here.

See you in 2017 for our next events!  Our new member Bob Koski will be your Event Coordinator this year, and we may move to Vancouver Lake.  Stay tuned during the year for more updates as they become available.
