Hats off
to CCRCS members Jim Taylor and John Shirron who once again hosted
our annual Christmas dinner event. Fourty-six club members,
spouses, girlfriends I suppose, and even one parent joined together
at Bill's Chicken and Steak House for the event. Fliers
donated one hundred seventy-five cans of food, and over fifteen
hundred dollars worth of door prizes were awarded! Members
feasted on prime rib dinners, chicken, and halibut. An open
bar was available and the atmosphere was jovial, friendly, and quite
fun!
Door prizes included gift certificates, KB
motors, soldering irons, ball caps, glues, all sorts of meters and
testers, several ARF kits, test stands, chargers, wire kits,
calendars, and too much more to mention.
The ladies present were awarded gift baskets, a
free dinner, and ornamental trees.
Member Herb Herb Riedlinger won the Dolphin ARF
that was donated by Jim Taylor, and Tom O ( or "Tomo" ) was the
lucky recipient of the biggest prize: Top Flight's Cessna 310
ARF!!
The biggest winner overall however, may have been
the smallest man at the event - our own Carter Strader! Carter
seemed to be a very determined pilot, having approached the prize
table several times, and participating in a rock/paper/scissors
runoff with Jim Taylor and Dean Swift for more prizes!
Jim conducted the infamous "Crier's Raffle," but
alas, winner Ryan Risor was not in attendance! Ryan!
Where were you??!!
We have a great club with members who are
engaged, fun, and friendly! A very enjoyable time was had by
all, so make plans for next year to attend - who knows - the next
twin Cessna may be yours! Tom - don't forget to let us know
the date for the maiden!
